Magnetic field
We experimented with color setup, material, and lighting for the 3D motion model visualizing the magnetic field between two oppositely charged magnetic poles. The magnetic field’s direction and strength are represented by magnetic field lines that emerge from the north pole of a magnet, curve around, and enter the south pole, then continue inside the magnet from the south pole back to the north pole, completing the loop.
The setup was developed by Junichiro Horikawa using the Houdini velocity volume + procedural programming language VEX.
